Finnoo
Espoo
A new, green neighbourhood by the metro line and the sea
Avara has completed a project involving three apartment buildings based on its own project development in the new district of Finnoo, in Espoo. The advanced energy solution of the buildings, located in Djupsundbacken, is based on the utilisation of low-carbon geothermal energy. Most of the apartments are three-room apartments and studio apartments.
In cooperation with QHeat and other constructors in the area, Avara designed Finland’s first local geothermal heating network for the area. The system carries heat from a depth of two kilometres. The energy solution enables the implementation of low-carbon heating and cooling energy in the new district. At its best, the new technology reduces emissions by 95 per cent in terms of the properties’ energy consumption.
Finnoo is being developed into a new maritime district for up to 17,000 residents. The construction of the new district will continue throughout the 2020s. The entire Finnoo area should be mostly finished by the 2030s.
The Finnoo investment belongs to Avara’s Avara Residential Fund II.
