Jatke Uusimaa Oy and Avara Oy have agreed on the construction of a hundred new rental homes on Tulistimenkatu in Central Pasila. A short-term interest-subsidised rental property of 44 apartments is being erected at Tulistimenkatu 4. At number six Tulistimenkatu, 56 non-subsidized rental homes are to be completed. The construction work will begin in October 2023, and the homes will be ready to receive new tenants in summer 2025.
The apartments to be built on Tulistimenkatu will be studios and two- and three-room apartments. The apartments will be 28–56m2 in size. Both buildings will have their own saunas, laundries and drying rooms. A common recycling room connected to the suction waste disposal system and a parking facility will be shared by the residents of the block. The buildings will use district heating.
The construction of the apartments on Tulistimenkatu is carried out in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and they are implemented in compliance with the requirements of energy class A. Almost all roofs will be green roofs, and one of the buildings will have a tall green wall. The apartments will also have water-saving eco-flow taps.
Tulistimenkatu is located next to excellent services, adjacent to the shopping centre Tripla and the Pasila railway station. In addition to comprehensive services and accessibility to public transport, residents will benefit from a shared car, electric car charging points and ample bicycle storage facilities.
We are very happy that, together with Avara, we have the opportunity to build homes in Central Pasila, close to all amenities. The project is a great continuation of the collaboration between Jatke and Avara. Home construction must continue despite the economic situation – apartments are still needed, and, at the same time, we are ensuring continuity of work for both our own staff and our extensive partner network, says Janne Mönkkönen, CEO of Jatke Uusimaa Oy.
It is great to be able to build diverse rental housing in attractive Central Pasila together with Jatke. Getting the project started in a difficult market situation has been the result of good cooperation and solid development efforts by the two companies. The new residential buildings will have solutions that support sustainable living in line with our sustainability strategy and are a great addition to our funds' housing portfolios, says Tuomas Rantsi, COO of Avara Oy.
